Dr. Aparna Gottumukkula brings decades of experience to her practice, providing comprehensive dental care with skill and compassion. She earned her dental degree from SDM College of Dental Sciences in India, followed by a one-year internship at Osmania University in Hyderabad. In 1997, she moved to the United States to further her training and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Boston University School of Dental Medicine in 2001.
Experience and Community Involvement
After practicing on the East Coast, Dr. Aparna moved to the Midwest in 2005 to continue her dental career and raise a family. She has been serving the Plainfield community since opening Valley Dental Care of Plainfield in 2010 and also spent over a decade working in public health. She is a proud member of the American Dental Association and the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Aparna values ongoing education and regularly attends continuing education courses, enjoying collaboration with local specialists.
Life Outside the Office
Dr. Aparna lives in Aurora with her two children. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, reading, watching sports, and spending quality time with family and friends.

What made you want to become a dentist?
I’ve always wanted to help people, and dentistry gives me the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone’s health, comfort, and confidence.
If you weren’t a dentist, what career would you have pursued?
I would have pursued a career in medicine and become a physician. Healthcare has always been my calling.
If you could have dinner with any historical figure or celebrity, who would it be and why?
I would choose Mother Teresa. Her compassion, humility, and lifelong dedication to helping others continue to inspire me both personally and professionally.
